Alec Baldwin Gets Flack for Filipino-Mail-Order-Bride Remark

I liked Alec Baldwin better when he wasn't so bloated.

The Filipino over-sensitivity rears again. Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin is being criticized for his remark about "buying himself a Filipino or Russian mail-order-bride" during his live appearance in the Late Show with David Letterman. Senator Loren Legarda, since the national election is just around the corner, has jumped into the issue and demanded that the actor issue an apology.

I am not Internet savvy, but I know there are sites for Filipina mail-order brides. There are also Filipinas who have arranged marriages with foreigners in order to leave the country. It is not wrong to feel affronted when we hear insensitive remarks like this. Pero para umarte na akala mo ay sakdal linis ang ating kababaihan? Magbulag-bulagan na hindi ito nangyayari?

Loren Legarda said that buying mail-order brides is illegal. We all know that. But there are still Internet sites like this that operate under the guise of personals site. So what are you gonna about it?

Excuse me for being blunt, but here's what I have to say: Tama na ang pangungurakot para mabigyan ng trabaho ang mga Pilipino. Nang sa ganun mawala na ang mga nakakalat na mga katulong na kasama ang mga lalaking foreigner sa Malate, Makati at iba pang parte ng Pilipinas.

If women's groups must really flame Alec Baldwin, put this in your letter of protest. "We take offense to being insulted by a man who gets pleasure from being fucked in the ass by a dildo; and a father who called his daughter a "pig" for not answering his phone calls."

Alec Baldwin is a lunatic; an actor who is not funny outside of 30 Rock. Didn't you know the banter with David Letterman is not scripted? So why expect something relevant to come out of his mouth?
